A fashion show, live music and a burlesque routine made for a glamorous cancer charity fundraiser.
A black tie ball held for Firefly Cancer Awareness And Support raised almost £3,000 in honour of the charity’s founder.
Organiser Kelly Diver said: “I decided to host a charity event after the lady that founded the charity, Denise Dunn, passed away in March.
“I can’t run or anything like that, but Denise was a glamorous lady, so I thought we would all get glammed up – that’s where it stemmed from.”
The event, held at Warmsworth’s Holiday Inn in Doncaster, included a fashion show from Chesterfield outlet Blanc Retail, as well as live music from singer Sam W Wright.
A pole fitness team also performed a burlesque routine at the show.
The event raised £2,700 for Firefly, which provides free transport for people living in Doncaster to get to Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital for treatment.
“Weston Park Hospital is quite difficult for parking, and if you think of the resources needed for a family to transport a loved one for regular appointments, it can be a strain. That’s the idea behind Firefly,” Kelly added.
