FIREFIGHTERS from across South Yorkshire will be washing cars for charity while waiting for 999 calls to come in.
The car washing sessions have been organised to mark National Car Wash Day and money to raised will be donated to The Fire Fighter’s Charity, which supports injured firefighters and their families.
Area Manager Dave Kiddy urged drivers to pop along.
He said: “We are appealing for members of the public to support this event and to bring their cars along to their local fire station for their cars washing in exchange for vital donations.
“Along with driving away in a clean car they will also be given valuable advice on fire safety in their homes.”
