A burning lorry was put out by firefighters on a Sheffield street last night.

The HGV was on Devonshire Road in Totley, making a delivery to the nearby Tesco store, when it caught fire at around 7pm on Friday.

The cause of the blaze was put down to overheated brakes.

A crew from Sheffield’s Central fire station also went to School Lane in Hyde Park, Sheffield, where a Ford Focus car went up in flames at around 11.30pm last night.

The vehicle was believed to have been stolen.

Firefighters tackled another burning car on Barnsley Road in Cudworth, Barnsley, just after 1am today.
