Firefighters armed with a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus extinguished a house fire in Killamarsh.

The fire was discovered on Westhorpe Road, about 9.30am, today, Saturday, March 21.

Crews from Staveley and Clowne put out the fire and ventilated the property and made it safe within an hour.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “The occupier of the property was in the care of neighbours and an ambulance was not needed.”
