FIREFIGHTERS were called out to Doncaster Prison on Wednesday night after a blaze broke out in a cell.

Crews from both Doncaster and Edlington Fire Stations were sent to the Marshgate jail at 7.10pm, to deal with the fire.

But they found the flames were out when they arrived on the scene.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it was believe the blaze was started deliberately. No one was reported injured in the fire.
