A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car after a collision with a bus outside The White Rose pub on Handsworth Road in Darnall, Sheffield.

She was taken to the Northern General Hospital by ambulance following the collision at 7.30pm on Sunday.

Another woman was taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after her car ran out of control and hit the central reservation barrier as she travelled along the M18 earlier in the day. The incident happened between junctions 2 and 3 northbound.

And paramedics took a motorist to hospital after he suffered shock when his van caught fire as he travelled along the M1 between junctions 35 and 36 northbound. The fire broke out at 5.30pm on Sunday. Two lanes of the motorway were closed while firefighters extinguished the flames before the motorway was re-opened.
