Smoke has been seen rising from the area of the old ski village in Sheffield.

Witness Christopher Emsley said the smoke was caused by burning tyres, and the fire started just after 4pm. Two fire engines attended and the flames were out by 4.35pm. Police were also called.

Twitter user Jon Benson posted the above photo just after 4.20pm.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has not yet confirmed any details of the incident.

The ski village has repeatedly been targeted by arsonists in recent years.
