In a number of recent offences in the city, thieves broke into homes to steal cars parked outside.

Vehicles were taken in raids in Burgoyne Road, Walkley; Oldfield Road, Stannington; Ecclesall Road South, Ecclesall and Brincliffe Crescent, Brincliffe.

Other burglaries reported to South Yorkshire Police were committed in Bradley Street, Crookes; Carlton Road, Hillsborough; Rodney Hill, Loxley and Jaunty Lane, Basegreen.

Homes in Harland Road, Hunters Bar and Psalter Lane, Brincliffe, were broken into through insecure windows.

And a homes in Thornsett Road, Nether Edge and Havercroft Road, Woodseats, were burgled when patio doors were forced open.

A burglar got into a house in Plowright Way, Gleadless Valley, when a door was left unlocked.

Garage burglaries have been reported in Cavill Road and Abbey View Road, both in Woodseats and building sites were raided at Hastings Road, Millhouses and Chesterfield Road South, Meadowhead.

A business on Bramall Lane, Highfield, was broken into earlier this week and a shed in a garden in Hunter House Road, Hunters Bar, was targeted for the bikes stored inside.
