Get down to Wharncliffe Heathlands Nature Reserve for a chance to find out more about fungus and to take a look at the many species which are found there.
The hunt, which is being organised by the reserve’s committee, will take place on Sunday, October 27, led by local expert Ziggy Senkans, who will identify the many species found in the woods and heath.
Meet at 10.30am at the River Don bridge on Station Road, Deepcar - SK 291 980.
The hunt is scheduled to finish at 12.30pm.
A spokesman said: “It has been a good autumn for fungi so far and the hunt may find up to 50 different species, including some that are hard to spot or less common. It should appeal to experts and novices.”
