The final phase of work to improve drinking water in Barnsley starts today.
Yorkshire Water is making a £7 million investment in the town’s pipe network.
Today contractors Balfour Beatty will return to Pogmoor Road to complete the final phase of work, including the cleaning of a section of water main, which will take two weeks.
Businesses nearby will remain open as normal.
Additional preparatory work will be carried out on Dodworth Road between the junction of Broadway and the M1 roundabout on Sundays only.
Temporary traffic lights will be used at each location on the dates of the work.
Project manager Mike Tunnicliffe said: “This will enable us to ensure the highest quality supply for customers.”
