Film stars at Chatsworth

CHATSWORTH house has been transformed into a rundown hovel - for filming on Sir Anthony Hopkins' latest movie The Wolf Man.

The actor joined Benicio Del Torro, Hugo Weaving and fellow Brit Emily Blunt in the Peak District to film scenes for the remake of the 1941 horror film. Visitors walking in the gardens caught a glimpse of the Hollywood stars but were not allowed to enter the set or take photographs.

False weeds, dead grass and ivy were used to turn the stately home into a house of horrors. The Wolf Man tells the story of a man who returns home after his brother's death but is bitten by a werewolf and becomes one himself.

Chatsworth house and gardens fully reopen on Wednesday.
