Film spells out drink and drugs recovery

A FILM highlighting people battling back from drink and drug addiction has been released to celebrate their achievements.

The inspirational DVD marks the efforts of people in misuse recovery on the Doncaster Focus on Recovery programme.

The short film features stories of recovery, and has been made to offer hope to those still experiencing drug or alcohol problems.

The film was screened at the Focus on Recovery day at The Danum Hotel, planned jointly by New Beginnings, Doncaster Alcohol Services and the community drug team run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, RDaSH.

Neil Firbank, outreach practitioner at New Beginnings, said: “The DVD reflects personal individual gains made throughout recovery.

“Some of the stories from service users are inspirational and show that recovery is possible for anyone who wants to get help.”
