a NIGHT of 1950s fun raised nearly £1,500 for a good cause.
More than 100 party-goers turned out to the fundraiser at Shiregreen Working Men’s Club.
They rocked and rolled to celebrate with teddy boy Christopher Kay and his twin Christine Ashton, who turned 50 this year.
Heavy snow had dampened their first party, which meant some people couldn’t make it – so the pair decided to do it all over again.
Christine, from High Green, said: “The night was a big success – eventually!
“The band cancelled on Thursday but we managed to secure a solo singer.
“And we raised £1,500 which was fabulous.”
Money raised at the party, which included music, games and 1950s-themed dress, will go to a young relative of the twins who has autism.
