Festive magic in city gardens

familIES are invited to enjoy ‘A Magical Christmas’ during events at Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens this weekend.

The gardens will be illuminated and there will be be traditional children’s rides and festive music.

There will be a miniature train, while glass pavilions will be enchanted by fairies. Another highlight will be illuminated Victorian costumes.

Children will also be able to give Santa a wave as he is busy in his workshop while his helpers will be happy to say hello and pass on letters.

Ride prices are £1, proceeds to St Luke’s Hospice.

The festive celebrations will be taking place between 4.30pm and 8.30pm daily from Friday to Sunday. Entry is £6 for adults, £1 for accompanied children and children under four get in free.

A free park-and-ride bus will run from Tesco, Abbeydale Road every 15 minutes between 4.30 pm and 9pm on Friday and 4pm and 9pm Saturday and Sunday.
