Festive treat for the homeless

A GROUP of nine girls aged 16 to 19 who attend a volunteering course delivered by women’s charity Platform 51 Doncaster will be providing a post-Christmas lunch for the homeless as part of the scheme’s Social Action Project initiative.

Most of the girls have experienced domestic violence and homelessness in Doncaster and all are not in education, employment or training.

The lunch will be held on Friday afternoon at Platform 51’s Doncaster centre in Cleveland Street.

A mixed group of 45 of Doncaster’s young homeless will be able to tuck into a festive feast with all the trimmings.

The girls will also provide seasonal entertainment in the form of a carol concert with one of the girls, who recently auditioned for X Factor 2013, leading the show.
