BOXING Day and New Year’s Day buses will be on the roads again this year on a number of routes in Sheffield with fares set at just £1 per journey.
The services, run by First, will operate between 8.30am and 6.30pm.
Trams will also operate a limited service on both days.
Coun Leigh Bramall, Sheffield Council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “We know money is tight at the moment, but it’s important for families and friends to be able to get together over the festive season.
“Public transport is a great way to get around the city, so we have worked hard to keep these services running.”
David Brown, director of South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, said: “We hope the extra services will provide people with a convenient way to get to where they need to be this festive season.”
Festive bus, train and tram timetables will be in operation between Friday, December 23, and Tuesday, January 3.
