UP to 15,000 people attended a community festival in Sheffield.
Lowedges Festival at Greenhill Park on Sunday was the ‘best-ever’, say organisers.
The event included medieval sword-fighting and activities such as ice skating and archery, plus live music, a farmer’s market and vehicle shows.
Stephen Rich, secretary of Greenhill and Bradway Tenants and Residents Association, organised the event with Harry Hunter of the Friends of Greenhill Park.
He said: “It went very well and there were between 14 to 15,000 people there, which was up on the previous year of 10,000.
“Our sponsors Stagecoach and Sheaf Motors were happy, the latter said it was one of the best shows they’d ever been to.
“There were also more vehicles there this year.
Organisers are already looking to next year.
Mr Rich added: “The medieval sword-fighting was popular and we’ve already booked them again.”
