Food stalls run by local shops, community stalls manned by residents, a bouncy castle, music and a cake baking contest are among the attractions at a ‘Love Crookes Fest’ tomorrow.

The event, from 10.30am to 1pm, is organised by St Thomas’ Church in its new ‘village square’ on Crookes main road, with some events indoors too.

The new Crookes Forum residents’ group will have a stall, and will be giving out free sunflower seeds to be grown in Crookes to cheer up gardens.

A Great Crookes Cake-Off will celebrate home baking in four categories - round cakes, cupcakes, traybakes and biscuits - and children are invited to enter a fancy dress contest which will be judged at 12.30pm.
