Concern is growing for Chesterfield’s top police officer who is still missing from home.
Chief inspector Tim Frohwein, 48, was last seen walking along the Old Roman Road out of Buxton at 1.30pm on Sunday.
Members of the Edale Mountain Rescue Team spent Monday helping the Buxton and Kinder teams search the Peak District but to no avail.
A spokesman said six volunteers had helped in the search and had been stood down for the time being.
Derbyshire assistant chief constable Dee Collins said she wanted to hear from off-road bikers and ramblers who may have seen Tim walking out of town.
“As the weather has been so cold we are very worried about his welfare,” she added.
