Two cyclists, reported to be father and son, were injured in a collision with a 4x4 in Sheffield this morning.
The men, aged 57 and 24, were involved in a crash with a silver Shogun in Chesterfield Road, Meersbrook.
Emergency services were alerted to the collision, close to Heeley Retail Park, at 8.55am.
The older man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the younger escaped with minor injuries.
Police closed the road while inquiries were carried out at the scene.
It has since re-opened.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: " We got a call at around 8.55am to reports of a collision involving two cyclists and a silver Shogun estate on Chesterfield Road.
"A 57-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, not believed to be life-threatening.
"A 24-year-old man suffered what is believed to be minor injuries.
"The road was closed from Beeton Road to Derbyshire Lane."
