Fatal stabbing at picturesque park
A PART-TIME gamekeeper and businessman was stabbed to death at his home near picturesque Clumber Park.
Police are treating the incident as murder and today released a photo of Nigel Bacon, also known as Neil, who died of stab wounds after being attacked at his bungalow opposite a main entrance to the park.
Officers were called to Keeper's Cottage, Normanton Larches, near the National Trust-owned park, just after 7pm on Wednesday.
Mr Bacon, aged 50, was treated at the scene and taken to Bassetlaw District General Hospital, but died at 8.30pm. A post mortem showed he died of stab wounds to his upper body.
The bungalow is just off the A614. Officers are guarding two access roads.
