CHESTERFIELD FC fans hoping to travel to Wembley Stadium by train are being urged to book their tickets as soon as possible.
East Midlands Trains is putting on more than 1,000 extra seats to take Spireites fans to the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final in London - but has warned services will be busy.
Official coach travel for the game on Sunday, March 25, has already sold out, with more than 2,500 fans snapping up the £25 seats across 50 coaches.
And rail tickets from Chesterfield to London St Pancras are selling fast too.
A train company spokeswoman said: “Tickets are available priced from just £43 return when booked in advance at www.east midlandstrains.co.uk
“Services are expected to be busy, therefore passengers are advised to book in advance and make a reservation to guarantee their seat.”
Marc Turley, East Midlands Trains head of commercial, said: “We know this will be a memorable day for all Chesterfield fans and want to make sure their trip to London gets off to a great start.
“We’re providing more than 1,000 extra seats for passengers travelling from Chesterfield to the match and, with some great value fares still available, would encourage any fans to book their tickets as quickly as possible.”
Additional trains for fans heading to the match against Swindon Town depart Chesterfield at 7.11am, 7.30am and 8.05am, arriving in London St Pancras at 9.50am, 10.20am and 10.49am respectively.
