THOUSANDS of Wednesdayites old and young flocked to Hillsborough - and it was fun all the way.
Owls fans watched the first team train as Gary Megson’s men continued their preparations for the new season kick-off.
Before the squad took to the field, there was a host of activities around the Owls Megastore to keep the crowds busy.
The SWFC community programme’s inflatable pitch, face painting stall, penalty shootouts, speed gun tests and fire engine demonstrations went down a treat with young Owls on the day.
Mascots Ozzie and Barney were there to meet the kids and chairman Milan Mandaric mingled with the 5,000 fans.
He said: “It was a great day and you can see what this club is all about with such incredible support. It was great to see so many fans at Hillsborough.”
The shirts proved immensely popular and flew off the shelves as fans kitted themselves out in style for the new season.
After the hour-long training session in front of thousands of fans seated in the North Stand, the players were on hand in the club’s 1867 lounge to meet supporters face to face and sign autographs.
