HUNDREDS of loyal fans braved the rain to watch pop sensation Alexis Jordan perform in Rotherham.
The 19-year-old, who shot to fame on America’s Got Talent, wowed around 400 fans who had queued to watch her at Parkgate Shopping Centre.
Staff handed out umbrellas as the star, who is signed to mentor Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation, brought a little of the spirit of her hit track Happiness to a damp South Yorkshire.
Alexis had travelled to Rotherham along with Paije Richardson from last year’s X-Factor and pop newcomers Six-D, to help launch a brand new electronics store.
Best Buy organised the free gig to coincide with the opening of the new 45,000 sq ft store, which has created 100 jobs.
A Best Buy spokesman said the company was the biggest retailer to launch in Rotherham for a decade.
The chain, which has 10 stores in the country, is expanding, with four new branches opened this year and another planned later this year.
