FUNDRAISING events are taking place around South Yorkshire to mark the centenary of charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
Sheffield cake company Fancie has created a giant cupcake mosaic, which will be on display in Meadowhall on Wednesday – the charity’s 100th birthday.
Shoppers can make a donation and decorate the cupcake mosaic from midday.
Meanwhile, Crystal Peaks shoppers will be able to join in a birthday party from 10am to 4pm on the same day, with cake, face painting and balloon modelling.
Fancie’s three stores have been selling special Macmillan cupcakes, and have so far raised £2,000.
Law firm Nabarro have also helped, collecting £20,000 with their annual ball and sponsorships from the Sheffield Half Marathon.
Nabarro are among 42 local firms signed up for the Star Business Challenge, which aims to find 100 companies to raise £100,000 for Macmillan.
