Fan charged after alleged fight following Chesterfield and Sheffield match

A Spireites’ fan has been charged with a public order offence after an alleged fight with a Sheffield United supporter.

The alleged incident took place after Chesterfield beat the Blades 3-2 at the Proact Stadium on Saturday.

Steven Hill, 27, of Chiltern Court, Chesterfield, was arrested in Sheffield Road in the town.

It is alleged he was involved in an altercation with another man who left the scene shortly afterwards.

The accused is due to appear at Chesterfield magistrates’ court on Tuesday, October 21.

• A Derbyshire police spokesman said: “On the whole fans were well behaved.”
