The family of a missing young man from Chesterfield has made a desperate appeal for his safe return.

Alistair Gosney, 26, of Newbold, was reported missing on Monday night. He last had contact with a friend just before midnight on Sunday, police said.

His sister, Ashley Edwards, said: “We want my brother home.

“He is in a suicidal state making this so much more important.”

Mr Gosney is thought to be driving a 53-registration, silver Saab 9-3 Vector. He is white, 5ft 10in tall, with a slim to medium build, short blonde hair and green eyes. He is thought to be wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a grey hooded top and white trainers.

Ashley added: “His car is the clue – if we find that, we believe we will find him.

“This is why we are pleading for people to keep such a strong look out.

“Any small detail, please share it with the police – they are doing so much to help us and we need your help to support them be eyes and ears for them.

“We’re finding it exhausting. There is only so long you can keep looking without sleeping.”

Concern is growing for Mr Gosney and anyone who has seen him should contact police on 101.
