Whirlow Hall Farm Trust’s Furry Friends day attracted more than 1,200 visitors during the half term holidays.
A racoon, meerkats, lizards, snakes and a kinkajou were among the selection of animals on display at the farm.
Youngsters could pet rabbits and guinea pigs in the animal barn and got to see sheep, ponies and goats up-close.
The pig unit was also open and children took part in craft activities and could have their faces painted.
Both cafés were busy and sold out of their homemade cakes.
Lindsay Fieldhouse, events organiser, said: “This was my first event since coming to work at Whirlow Hall Farm and it was a treat. The looks of amazement and curiosity on the children’s faces were wonderful.”
