A COMMUNITY hub for young people in Rotherham has been awarded a £38,000 grant.
The Lloyds TSB Foundation funding has been granted to The High Street Centre, Rawmarsh, which offers a range of one-to-one and group activities and support for children and teenagers.
The centre hosts youth clubs, a holiday programme, outdoor trips and residentials, first aid training, support for volunteers as well as after-school childcare and healthy living activities.
Caroline Langston, centre development manager, said: “The centre works with a range of disadvantaged people in the area and the grant will allow us to continue to deliver our services to the local community.”
Pat Greenwood, foundation grant manager, said: “Charities are facing many challenges at the moment as funding becomes harder to secure and demand for services increases.”
