A day of ‘fungi fun’ was held in the Peak District with trails, crafts and displays designed to celebrate the 600 different species of weird and wonderful mushrooms recorded in the area.

The National Trust’s Longshaw Estate is famous for its beautiful and rare fungi and hosted the day of fungi-themed activities for all ages.

Jenny Gerrans, of the National Trust, said: “Our Discovering Fungi day was a great chance for people to find out more about these incredible life-forms.”
