HUNDREDS of young job seekers are hoping to boost their prospects by attending an employment fair tomorrow.
More than 600 out-of-work under-25s have been invited to the World of Work event, which aims to highlight the support available to job seekers and employers through the Government’s £1 billion Youth Contract.
Dozens of local businesses have been signed up to speak directly to jobless 16 to 24-year-olds, and a selection of employers that have already taken advantage of the Youth Contract’s £2,275 wage incentive will talk of their success in recruiting young people.
The event, organised by the local JobCentre Plus, will take place at Bramall Lane football stadium from 9am to 4pm.
Sheffield Hallam MP and Deputy PM Nick Clegg has added his support.
He said: “If you’re looking for work, or want to offer work, this is a fantastic opportunity.”
