Rotherham United equalled a 95-year low as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Championship pace-setters Norwich City.
The Millers have now lost their opening six away matches of their campaign. The last time they did that was in 1921 when they were known as Rotherham County and operating in the old English Division Two.
Dexter Blackstock scored his first goal for the club four minutes after coming on as a 70th-minute substitute to reduce the arrears to 2-1 but Norwich claimed their third through Steven Naismith a minute from time.
The Millers remain in bottom spot after their fifth successive reverse and can have no complaints about the result.
They were in the game early on but had no answer to the magic of Wes Hoolahan as Norwich took the lead in the 17th minute.
The Canaries midfielder turned, shimmied and then stopped in the penalty area, creating all the time in the world for him to roll the ball home.
Norwich had most of the pressure in the second half and deserved their second goal when Cameron Jerome clipped home Hoolahan's 64th-minute cross after weak defensive play from the Millers.
Hoolahan, Alex Pritchard, Alex Tettey and Timm Klose could all have added to the scoreline after the interval.
But Blackstock, steering in Darnell Fisher's cross at the near post, gave Alan Stubbs' men hope.
Stubbs had made one enforced change to the team which had performed well in a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle United before the international break, bringing Will Vaulks into central midfielder in place of injured Tom Adeyemi.
There was a place on the bench for Scott Allan, the first time the midfield man had made the squad since starting in the 4-2 loss at Blackburn Rovers last month.
Rotherham were boosted by Blackstock's strike, but Naismith's late tap-in put a fair reflection on the scoreline.
