Extra police officers are on duty in Doncaster this morning ahead of a planned demonstration in the town centre.
Stand Up To UKIP members are to march through the town to Doncaster Racecourse, where the UKIP party conference is being held.
Demonstrators will gather from 10.30am and will march from 1pm Waterdale onto Cleveland Street, to Printing Office Street and St Sepulchre Gate and then continuing onto High Street, Hallgate, South Parade and Bennetthorpe, then turning left onto St Leger Way.
Superintendent Peter Norman, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “Around 60 additional officers from Doncaster will be on the streets on Saturday to ensure that the demonstration can be conducted safely and peacefully.
“I would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience while this is ongoing and will continue to provide up to date information about the temporary road closures.”
