FIRE chiefs have organised two more public meetings in South Yorkshire to let residents have their say on cuts.
The dates of four meetings had already been announced in Sheffield and now extra meetings are planned in Barnsley and Doncaster.
Fire chiefs want to gauge public opinion on proposals to help save £10 million over the next four years.
Mansfield Road, Darnall and Mosborough fire stations in Sheffield would be closed and two news ones built in their place - near the Parkway and at Birley.
Royston fire station in Barnsley would close if the proposal gets the go ahead.Edlington would lose its retained firefighters. ‘Roving’ fire engines used when crews are training would be taken out of service.
The extra meetings are at Edlington Victoria Primary School, Victoria Road, Edlington, Doncaster, on Monday, December 5, 6pm and at Royston Civic Hall, Station Road, Royston, at 7pm on Wednesday, December 7.
Sheffield meetings are at the Church on the Corner, Buchanan Road, Parson Cross, on November 22; St Catherine’s Church, Hastilar Road South, Manor, on November 29; Mosborough Methodist Church, Chapel Street, on November 30 and Sheffield Transport Club, Meadowhead, on December 14, all at 7pm. The public consultation ends on February 6.
