FIREFIGHTERS spent the night cooling down an acetylene gas cylinder on an industrial estate after a fire broke out involving a forklift, two caravans and an office outbuilding.
There were fears the cylinder, containing gas for welding, could have exploded.
Crews were called to the blaze on Claycliffe Road, Barugh Green, Barnsley, at on Thursday, at about 4.05pm, and left yesterday morning.
They prevented flames from spreading to another unit on the estate, which suffered fire damage to its gable end before firefighters stopped its progress.
About 12 people working on the industrial estate when the blaze broke out were evacuated, but were allowed back to work yesterday.
A probe into the cause of the blaze is under way.
