The Light, as well as the accompanying shops and restaurants, comprise phase two of the redevelopment of on of Sheffield’s key city centre streets.

Primark opened their new 80,000sq ft store on October 28 with other retail shops and restaurants, including Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Pizza Express and Zizzi soon to follow.

The first phase was the new Moor Market which opened in 2014, and the third will be the redevelopment of the 30,000 sq ft block opposite Debenhams.

The nine-screen luxury cinema will offer state-of-the-art-facilities, as well as quality food and drink and a varied film experience.

The Light, founded by John Sullivan and Keith Pullinger, seeks to create a "dynamic cinema offer, exploiting the flexibility of digital cinema" with a wide range of on screen content.

The cinema will broadcast live arts and sports programmes, with a food and drink experience which aims to move away from the "predominantly youth targeted popcorn and cola" experience.
