A pair of former sporting stars have teamed up to raise cash for a Sheffield charity.
Former Sheffield Wednesday player David Hirst and boxer Ryan Rhodes are saddling up for a charity bike ride in aid of Neurocare, which funds life-saving equipment at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
They will ride 170 miles from Morecambe to Bridlington over three days.
Ryan, the youngest post-war holder of the British Light Middleweight title, said: “The training won’t be easy and the route is tough but it’s worth it to raise money for this amazing charity.”
The pair will set off on their ride on October 29 and are inviting cycling enthusiasts to join them for sections of the route. They are hoping to raise £5,000 for Neurocare.
