Ex Human League band member Russ Dennett is taking part in a charity fundraiser as part of the Master Cutler’s Challenge in Sheffield.
The musician has agreed to take part in a music talent showcases organised by Sheffield firm Wilson Field - business turnaround specialists - as part of the annual challenge.
The city’s Master Cutler Tony Pedder gives out grants of £100 to firms and individuals to use the money to generate more for charity over a six month period.
This year the money raised will be split between Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospitals Charity.
Wilson Field’s first fundraiser is to be held at Bar 27, off London Road, on Sunday, May 4.
The second will be staged Whirlow Hall Farm Trust on Sunday, August 3.
Acts appearing at the May gig include Know Your Enemy, Absolute Beginners, Darkside of the Lounge, indie folk artist James Lamb and Paul Foster.
Bands confirmed for the August event include family trio Absolute Beginners with a 12 year old bassist ,Connor Parsons; Vyndictive; James Lamb; Junkyard Dog featuring ex Human League member Russ Dennett and Carnival.
Sheffield-based firm tdc, which provide professional sound and lighting for shows all over the country, is also taking part in the Cutler’s Challenge and has agreed to run the stage at the August event.
Richard Groves, from tdc, said: “Wilson Field has organised something really special here and we want to use all our expertise to make this a day to remember. We’re aiming at a mini Wembley Stadium only with more cows.”
