A FORMER Sheffield boxer has been killed in a horror crash between his motorcycle and a car.

A pair of boxing gloves and bouquets of flowers today marked the spot where the biker died, when his Yamaha was in collision with a Ford Fiesta on Rivelin Valley Road in Sheffield.

Friends named the 38-year-old motorcyclist from Richmond, Sheffield, as former professional boxer Thomas Bradley.

Thomas - whose nickname in the ring was T-Bar - was a light welterweight between 1995 and 1999, winning 10 fights, drawing four and losing one.

The crash happened at the junction with Rails Road, when a green Fiesta which was crossing Rivelin Valley Road was in collision with the black Yamaha FZ1 bike.

The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man from Sheffield city centre, was uninjured.

He has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police today appealed for witnesses, or for anyone who was at the scene before officers arrived, to come forward.
