Evicted man moved in 150 yards away

A NEIGHBOUR from hell was evicted from his Sheffield council flat after terrorising pensioners - but then moved in with his girlfriend on the next street.

Residents said they were relieved when James Johnson, aged 35, was forced to leave his old home in Ridal Avenue, Stocksbridge, on October 23.

But they were furious when they discovered he was still living in the area at his girlfriend's flat in Ridal Close.

One furious resident, who did not wish to be named, said: "James Johnson has been terrorising the area. People suffered criminal damage, the blocks of flats have been graffitied, and little old ladies have been threatened by him.

"People were relieved when he was evicted - but were not so happy to find him living 150 yards away from his old home, with his girlfriend."

However, housing management company Sheffield Homes said it is also taking Mr Johnson's girlfriend to Sheffield County Court for an eviction hearing later this month.

She also faces allegations she made other tenants' lives a misery, through loud music and rows late at night.

Lorraine Greeves, manager of the company's anti-social behaviour team, said: "Mr Johnson was evicted from Ridal Avenue for anti-social behaviour. We understand he has since moved into his partner's property. His partner is due to attend a hearing on November 24 and 25 due to her alleged anti-social behaviour.

"The proceedings are for the purpose of taking possession of the property as a result of her breaching her tenancy agreement."

She added continued anti-social behaviour from Mr Johnson would be used as further evidence to evict his partner.

Ms Greeves said: "All tenants are responsible for the behaviour of guests and visitors at their property."

When the Star called round neither Mr Johnson nor his partner were available to comment.
