Event will mark Women’s Day

The achievements of women in society are to be celebrated in Rotherham next week.

International Women’s Day will be marked on Monday, March 11, by a women’s equality conference at Rotherham Town Hall, when three speakers will address the theme of Learn, Protect, Inspire – because we’re worth it!.

The High Sheriff of South Yorkshire, Rotherham businesswoman Julie Kenny CBE, Sheffield YWCA chief executive Tracy Guest and Rotherham Coun Shabana Ahmed will be guest speakers at the conference, which offers women the opportunity to be involved in an interactive day with workshops.

So far about 60 women have signed up for the annual event, the sixth held in Rotherham.
