Even Menzies knows who Arctics are!

SHEFFIELD'S most famous band has once again been used as the bar for coolness set by politicians.

LibDem leader Sir Menzies Campbell, when asked how he could change his image, declared that he knew who the Arctic Monkeys are.

He also took a side swipe at Chancellor Gordon Brown, who once famously claimed that he listens to the band on his iPod.

Sir Menzies was being interviewed at the party conference during a question-and-answer session when he was asked how he would "sex up his image".

He said: "Well, I know where the Arctic Monkeys are from. I know they have sold more records than the Beatles.

"But the idea, as reported by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, that I turn off the Today programme and then turn on the Arctic Monkeys seems to me a little remote. The British public are pretty damned good at seeing through artificiality.

"I have been in the House of Commons for 20 years and I believe I have the energy for the responsibilities I have. That is the basis on which I present myself and I sure as hell ain't gonna change."

Today's question: Does knowing about the Arctic Monkeys make Menzies Campbell and Gordon Brown look cool to voters?
