Estate schemes up for awards

SOUTH Yorkshire housing associations are among nine in the Yorkshire region to go through to the next round of a national competition that highlights ‘important community work’ by social landlords.

The Community Impact Awards, organised by the National Housing Federation, recognise neighbourhood projects ranging from anti-social behaviour initiatives to support for older people.

Projects progressing to the next stage of the competition are: Sanctuary Housing Group’s Shiregreen Neighbourhood Challenge, Sheffield; Great Places Housing Group – From Rags to Richmond Park regeneration programme; Places for People, Manor Estate, Sheffield – Safer Streets; South Yorkshire Housing Association – RESPECT project engaging children in healthy activities.
