South Yorkshire Police sprang into action this afternoon to rescue a pig.
No, we’re not telling porkies - officers were deployed to track down and wrest control of a ‘pot bellied pig that made a bid for freedom, causing havoc’.
Rotherham North Local Policing Team was called out to the incident in Thryberg.
Officers managed to save its bacon, returning the pig to its owner.
As Rotherham North LPT said: “Pot bellied pig made a bid for freedom, causing havoc, sent in the pig whisperers (with riot shields) pig saved, order restored.”
