Residents were partying in a Sheffield park as they came together to enjoy the return of a popular community event.

There were fun and games for all the family at Party in the Park, held at the St Peter’s Common Ground off Woodstock Road, Nether Edge.

Laura Fitzgerald, of the Nether Edge Neighbourhood Group, said: “Everybody enjoyed it. It was a chance to share food with neighbours they knew and also people they had walked past in the street but not necessarily spoken to before.”

Attractions included face paints, crafts, a visit from a fire engine, a fashion parade, martial arts demonstrations and dance performances.

Proceeds from Saturday’s event will be shared between the Nether Edge Primary School library project and the St Peter’s Common Ground.

Nether Edge Neighbourhood Group has been active since 1973 and co-ordinates activities to explore and enhance the local community.
