A RAILWAY historian will bring back travelling memories for Killamarsh folk with a special talk.
Howard Turner, a long-standing member of the Great Central Society, is to speak about his time commuting on the Great Central Line through Killamarsh, which is no longer in use.
The event will also introduce new group Killamarsh Heritage Society, which has been set up with the aim of reinstating the old Killamarsh Central Station building as a community hub and promoting the town’s heritage.
The station closed in 1963.
Mr Turner’s talk takes place at 7.30pm on Tuesday January 17 at Killamarsh Leisure Centre.
All are invited to attend the evening and bring along their memories plus ideas for the old station.
