A leisure centre saved from the axe by its local community is reaping the benefits of a digital donation.
Sheffield-based Plusnet has agreed to sponsor Stocksbridge Leisure Centre by providing free internet and broadband, central to the day-to-day running of the facility. It also allows the venue to offer free wi-fi access.
Operations director Paul Hirst, who helps to run the facility alongside his job managing his own business, said: “Local companies have been so charitable in making donations to help keep the leisure centre open.
“It’s a huge benefit and the support in keeping the centre alive means so much to locals.”
