What is it with Sheffield City Council and Ecclesfield?
I’ve lived here for 65 years and since its takeover by Sheffield it’s been the subject of neglect, much of what is good about the village is run by the community. The loss of the library would be the last straw.
The library is at the centre of the community and provides a real service. Surely the council don’t expect us to continue paying taxes for services not delivered.
I heard on the TV news that Sheffield, Newcastle, Leeds and other northern councils are whinging about the lack of government financial support, well I remember a time when elected representatives would show leadership and fight inequality.
There is little wonder then that Scots consider independence when English opposition politicians demonstrate little backbone.
