The owners of a wildlife and falconry centre in South Yorkshire are flying high at the donation of a rare vulture.

Two-year-old Zulu, an African White-backed Vulture, was donated to the Tropical Butterfly House in North Anston by the Hawk Conservancy Trust.

The species has undergone a rapid decline in the wild and is now classed as endangered.

The Tropical Butterfly House has donated thousands of pounds to the Hawk Conservancy Trust to help fund its monitoring work.

Andrew Reeve, manager of the Tropical Butterfly House, said: “We are very fortunate and grateful to receive this donation from the Hawk Conservancy Trust.”
