AN ANIMAL-loving teenager is spending the week at the Young Kennel Club’s National Training Camp with her dogs.
Emily Green, aged 15, from Deepcar, and her dogs, Harvey, Hattie and Yent will take part in dog obedience, agility and grooming training at Brooksby Melton College, Leicestershire, as part of the scheme for dog-lovers aged six to 16.
Emily will also visit the Ministry of Defence Animal Centre to see how the British Services train animals for use in the field.
This is her fifth year at the camp and her love of dogs has inspired her to become a dog show judge and steward.
Emily said: “I would love to use my experience with dogs and become an animal behaviourist, and have already been on courses to help me.
“It is my passion.”
This will be Emily’s last year at the camp, but she said that she hopes to return in future as a helper and a team leader.
